I've seen a few bent-bent cages from multiple levels of derailleur with the new Shimano rear derailleur architecture. failing shifters: I will try to find out which brand of cables were used, but most of the ratchet issues I heard/saw happened on complete bikes, or in shifters purchased aftermarket, with their original cables already threaded in. SRAM might say "LoWeR wEiGhT" - sure, and I guess there's more teeth to spread the wear but just take a look at people's cassettes and the majority (read: average joe) will still have the most wear on that 50t pie plate. I think it's relatively safe to assume that you will get a longer lifespan out of something that's ultimately a consumable. Suspect SRAM chain will also work, not sure about KMC. When you buy the Shimano Deore BL-M6100, you'll find a forged caliper and lever in the box, but they'll be separate, so you'll have to put them together yourself. When winding on the B-tension so the marker was lined up with the largest cassette tooth, the derailleurs jockey wheel was far enough away from the cassette to negatively impact shift quality. This is claimed to enable shifting up and down the cassette while under power by helping the chain transition between the sprockets more smoothly. Although each change was solidly defined from the next, it would be a stretch to describe the levers action as pristinely crisp or premium, like youd experience with XT, XTR, or SRAMs GX or X01 groupsets.
