Mix Dish Soap with Warm Water in Storage Bin for soaking parts
Remove Grill Grates (soak if keeping, or discard if replacing)
Remove Flavorizor Bars (soak if keeping, or discard if replacing)
Remove Igniter box from grill and remove cables from igniter box.
Remove Control Knobs and Control Panel, Soak in Soap Bath
Remove Igniter Cable from Burner Tube
Remove Burner Tubes
Clean out debris from grill. Mine had a lot of built up, so I used a shop vac to clean out. If there is not a lot of debris you can push through to drip pan instead of vacuuming.
Remove Drip Tray. Toss debris in 5 Gallon Bucket.
Scrape drip tray and pan. Use putty knife to scrape out Metal Drip Pan Holder. Place metal drip pan holder in soap bath
Replace drip tray to catch grease from next step.
Scrape out inside base of Grill. Use Putty Knife to scrape out inside of the grill. Use steel brush for corners/tight edges. Use cleaning brush to clean out additional flakes of grime.
Scrape out inside lid of Grill. Use Putty Knife, steel brush and cleaning brush to clean out the top of the grill.
Empty drip tray into 5 gallon bucket. Tip - The Tarp helps catch grease that falls to the ground and prevent staining your patio or driveway.
Vacuum grease and debris from inside base of the Grill.
Wash the Grill
Mix equal parts vinegar and dish soap in bucket of warm water. The vinegar is acidic and helps cut through the grease on grill.
Wash inside Grill. Use Scrub brush to wash inside of grill
Wash Outside Grill. Use Scrub brush to wash outside of the grill.
Rinse & Repeat as Needed. Use hose to spray suds off grill and repeat brushing as needed until grease is gone and grill is sparkling clean.
Scrub parts that were in soap bath. Use scrub brush to scrub grill grates, Control Panel and Knobs, and Drip Pan that have been soaking in soap bath.
Rinse clean in clean water storage bin. After scrubbing each part, rinse clean in the clean water bath.
Rebuild Grill.
Install new Burner Tubes. Tip - practice piecing together first outside of grill so you know how to install correctly before fastening to grill. Fasten to Grill. When fastening to the grill, these bolt onto the back inside of the grill. See my YouTube video on how to install if you can't remove the back bolts due to corrosion.
Connect Igniter to Control Panel. Install the igniter on the control panel by clicking the igniter switch into the control panel.
Connect Igniter Cable on Burner Tube. The cable should easily click onto the tube.
Install Control Panel. Slide control panel onto holding brackets making sure to thread igniter cable through to inside grill base. Fasten Control Panel with screws to secure panel to grill.
Install Igniter. If installing new igniter, follow instructions for installing battery to the igniter unit.Connect igniter cables to igniter unit. Follow cable color coding to connect cables to correct location.Fasten Igniter Unit to the Grill using provided screws.
Test Igniter.Reconnect propane tank and turn nob to open gas flow. Turn control knobs to ignite position. Push igniter switch to start grill.Flame should now be a cool blue and ignite after a couple clicks .
Replace Metal Drip Pan Holder. Put metal drip pan holder back into its holding place. Insert new aluminum drip pan tray.
Replace Drip Tray. Put drip tray back into place.
Replace Flavorizer Bars. Place Flavorizer bars back into place.
Replace Grill Grates. Place Grill Grates back into place.
